Prepare for your RTT session

Make sure you have Zoom installed on your computer or tablet (I recommend you use a computer, laptop or tablet rather than a phone).

If you haven’t got Zoom installed when you click on the link on the invitation it will give you the option to install the Zoom application.
You only need the free version – I have the professional version.

You should receive a Zoom invite when you book your RTT session on my calendar. If you have not received it please contact me at stellajpatterson@icloud.com

It is very important for you to be set up correctly prior to us connecting via Zoom.

You will need to have your session in a room where the door can be shut, no pets or children allowed in and where no landline telephone could ring and disturb you.

Give yourself the environment of privacy and if possible, minimise noise.

Let other household members know that you will not be available and must not be disturbed.

Although the session is usually two hours long I recommend that you allow three hours of undisturbed time.

Please practice setting yourself up beforehand to save time during the session:

Set your computer up so that you are reclining or sitting comfortably, but your face is clearly visible (I need to see your eyes, shoulders and arms).

You need be able to raise your arms to chest height and drop them on your lap without hitting your computer screen or table.

It is important that I am able to hear you clearly. If you can comfortably wear headphones with a microphone in this position I recommend that you do so. If they are wireless earphones have them fully charged (they should be able to last three hours).

Set up your chair/reclining position in advance so that you are comfortable with a pillow/cushion to support your head, if it is chilly have a blanket to put over you and have tissues at the ready in your lap.

Go to the bathroom before our session starts.

Once the session commences there can be no interruptions so when we have established a stable connection our mobile phones will be set to airplane mode.

Try to keep the rest of the day free – you may feel very relaxed afterwards and quite tired. I recommend that you plan take it easy if possible. You deserve it!

Please note:

I use Zoom because it is reliable and in most cases if we do get disconnected, Zoom will reconnect us without you having to do anything.

In the unlikely event that Zoom cannot automatically reconnect us and you are in hypnosis you will gradually become aware that you can not hear my voice and you will naturally come out of hypnosis. If this happens you will be able to reconnect to our Zoom meeting by clicking on the original link I sent you which will connect you to our meeting again. I will then put you back into hypnosis and we will continue with our session.
